Obama St. Art

In the coming months there will be many who criticize the Obama Street Art movement as a fad, as a symptom of “obamamania,” or as vandalism. And to a certain extent it may have a component of each of those things.

But it is also something much more powerful: a call to arms for a generation of young Americans who have, until now, expressed their distaste for American policies and politics only through distance and detachment from the process. For the first time we have fully embraced a contemporary American political figure. We are awake, we are organizing, and we got numbers.
